prosper in Ulster County, there are a few key industries for which
our county is exceptionally well suited, including:
 |

Information Technology |
 |
Financial, Insurance & Real
Estate |
The Right Stuff
Ulster County is home to these industries because of a unique combination of assets and resources that are hard to duplicate elsewhere.
Our close proximity to the Albany Capital region provides access to the Center for Biotechnology and Interdisciplinary Studies and Albany NanoTech, as well as the planned Regional Center of Excellence for biodefense and emerging infectious disease research. All are ideal partners for long-term research and development.
Closer to home we have the Mid Hudson Technology Council, a partnership between the academic, public, and private sectors of Ulster and Dutchess Counties. The Council offers start-up and existing technology based business with peer networks and technical assistance.
Ulster County has a growing advanced infrastructure maintained by national and regional telecommunications to support technology based industries as well as other industries that rely on technology for production, sales, and administration. And businesses located here benefit from a forward-thinking government that keeps pace with the fast-changing needs of industry and technology.
A large population of executives, engineers, programmers,
analysts, technicians and computer operators provide the county
with a capable and ready workforce. And, advanced training and higher
education opportunities help provide our key sectors with employees
who are skill-specific.
