We're IT
Ulster County is at the forefront of information technology growth, transforming the way we live and conduct business. Home to a wide range of sophisticated companies that include both established players and start-ups, Ulster County was recently named a top new emerging technology center by the Milken Institute.
Today, Ulster's population is comprised of many visionary
entrepreneurs, seasoned knowledgeable professionals, programmers,
engineers, experienced management, and technology-trained clerical
workers. Regional research and academic institutions also continually
cultivate the talent to meet current and future workforce needs.
Access to high-speed telecommunications is vital to
our technology firms and our extensive network of fiber optics offer
the robust capacity to transmit data, video and voice communication.
And through our Development 21 Initiative, which includes the Shovel
Ready and Telecommunications Fund, we actively pursue continual
upgrades and expansions.
The Mid Hudson Technology Council, a partnership between the academic, public, and private sectors of Ulster and Dutchess Counties offers start-up and existing technology-based businesses peer networks and technical assistance.
