The Means to Make It Happen

What business can survive without a dependable, cost-effective, replenishable, and technologically advanced infrastructure? In Ulster County, our networks of optic fiber, highways and railways, and electric and gas lines provide the backbone that makes business happen.

Transportation

Ulster County is ideally situated around three exits of the New York State Thruway (I-87), with easy access to I-84 and I-90. Both Amtrak and Metro-North Commuter rails are within a short commute. Shipping is easily handled by CSX Freight Lines. Stewart International Airport and Albany International Airport are both close at hand, with LaGuardia, JFK, and Newark easily reached within 2 hours. Commuter and private air service is also available at the Kingston-Ulster Airpark, the Wallkill Airport, and the Ellenville Airport.

Technology

Ulster County is committed to fostering growth and prosperity for business through ongoing expansion and improvements to its technology infrastructure. We recognize that access to high-speed telecommunications is vital, and our extensive network of fiber optics, provided by regional and national carriers, offers the robust capacity to transmit data, video and voice communication.
