Port Ewen, NY - Patti Heins, owner of Perfezione Painting, has been recognized as “Female Entrepreneur of the Year” by the New York State Small Business Development Center and will be inducted into the SBDC Hall of Fame. Heins receives business counseling from the Mid-Hudson Small Business Development, working with Senior Counselor Al Griggs, on establishing financing, gaining status as a state certified Minority and Women-Owned business, and marketing her company. “Patty is a model client who, like most of our clients, we have established a long-term relationship with,” said Arnaldo J. Sehwerert, SBDC Regional Director, Certified Business Advisor. “She comes back to us when she needs assistance and we help her move forward.”
After 20 years as a union painter, Heins established the company in 2005 starting as an all-female team, specializing in painting, wallpapering and drywall installation, and has grown the firm to $1 million in sales. Heins is among nine entrepreneurs throughout the state who were recognized on May 24 at an awards dinner in Syracuse. She was selected from nominees from SBDC’s network of 24 regional centers in the state. She will receive a plaque and her photo will be added to the Hall of Fame at SBDC’s central office in Albany. Individuals selected for the SBDC Hall of Fame are among the most outstanding clients assisted by the program since 1984. SUNY Ulster is the sponsor of the regional SBDC that serves Dutchess, Orange, Schoharie, Ulster, Green, Delaware and Sullivan counties. SBDC focuses on entrepreneurs and small business owners in all types of service and industrial sectors, as well as individuals and projects that advance job development, investment and economic growth in the region. It also emphasizes counseling and training services to women, veterans, individuals with special needs and minority entrepreneurs. |
