Beauty, adventure, serenity, family fun, culture, and history are just a few of the reasons why tourism in Ulster County is a growth industry. From luxurious accomodations to campgrounds, indulgent spa experiences to sky diving, and home-spun farm u-picks to nationally-recognized arts fairs, businesses that cater to tourists thrive because of Ulster's diverse range of experiences. In 2009, New York State opened the Walkway Over the Hudson, the world's longest pedestrian bridge, which cross the Hudson from the Ulster County side at Highland. In just it's first six month, the Walkway attracted more than 500,000 visitors. So, it's pretty clear...Ulster County is happening!
Beauty, serenity, family fun, culture, and history are just a few of the reasons why tourism in Ulster County is a growth industry. Businesses that cater to tourists thrive because of Ulster's diverse range of experiences. Close enough to the metropolitan area for day trippers and far enough of a stretch for summer-long visitors, Ulster County's majestic country-side helps fuel hotels, B&Bs, restaurants, shops, farms, galleries and more. Even as a business destination, Ulster County's profile continues to rise as our hotels and resorts are set up to accomodate the amenities and activities needed for meetings, conferences or conventions. Recently, UCDC ran the ad below in 1,200 taxis in Manhattan. More than 180,000 taxi passengers got a glimpse of what Ulster County is all about. And now, so can you by clicking the clip below:
